Black stars' job, too close to call

The search for a substantive coach to steer Black stars of Ghana to Germany 2006 has intensified with the 15th November date the F.A. set for themselves fast approaching.

In telephone interview this morning, the vice chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwasi Nyantakyi told Kwabena Kyere Stugard of SPACE FM that the management Board of the F.A. is firmly in control and working frantically to appoint a competent coach whose background is impeccable.

The young and dynamic football administrator would not disclose the favoured candidate for the job.

?All the seven candidates short listed are qualified for the job but the F.A. is still in the process of conducting due diligence search into the background of the coaches?, he hinted.

He lamented the unceremonious departure of Milan Zivadinovic and Mariano Barreto, saying the F.A. did not want a repetition of that.

Meanwhile, grapevine investigation conducted by SPACE FM has revealed that a Frenchman Phillipe Troussier is in the lead with the former Rwandan coach Rotimir Djukovic closely on his heels. The very hard working Dujkovic did the unthinkable by guiding a relatively unknown Rwanda to its first CAN berth, and his former employers have not stopped showering tons of praises on him.

The F.A. is expected to settle on the right man for the job by the close of the week.

Stay tuned!
