Supporters of Spanish top flight side Getafe have judged Ghana international Derek Boateng as the team’s Player of the Year.
The midfielder received his award over the weekend and spent most of the time with the fans in the stadium stands.
Boateng, who is named in the Black Stars' provisional squad for the World Cup, has caught the attention of league rivals Sevilla and Valencia.
He joined the club at the beginning of the season from FC Cologne and was presented with the award moments before they beat Malaga 2-1 on Saturday to leave them one win away from qualifying for the Europa League.
The Ghanaian has made 29 appearances in Spain - three of them as a substitute during his first season in a defensive midfield position.
