Bogoso Gold Limited rehabilitates Sports Stadium

Bogoso, (W/R) Feb 5, GNA - Bogoso Gold Limited (BGL) is has undertaking the rehabilitation of the Bogoso Sports Stadium at a cost of 100,000 dollars.

The project, which is being carried out in phases, has the second phase of the project involving the building of a parameter wall of 146 metres breadth costing 27,000 dollars.

The Stadium is the home ground of Bogoso Golden Stars and also used by educational institutions for sporting activities and other national ceremonies.

BGL is executing the project in collaboration with Bogoso Area Council and Golden Stars Football Club who are providing labour and supervising.

Nana Richard Hagan, Community and Environment Manager of BGL said announced these when he took the GNA Sports and other pressmen to inspect the progress of work at the site. He said the first phase involved clearing, filling and planting of grass on the playing pitch.

Nana Hagan appealed to the communities to co-exist peacefully with the company to as that the management of the Mines would also reciprocate to by assisting them with their development projects. He said that, " It is better to use dialogue than confrontation in resolving community issues".

Mr Stephen Kwame Asante, Bogoso Area Council Chairman said he was grateful that since the Community and Environment Department was set up at the Mines, assistance to community projects has improved. He said the Council would ensure that materials entrusted into its hands would be used for the intended purpose. Mr Asante appealed for the renovation of the Bogoso Community Centre and for construction of some projects to other communities under the Area Council.
