The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has earmarked a 10 acre piece of land located at the off Accra-Tema motorway for the construction of CAF Academy.
The construction works is expected to begin in January 2004. CAF President Issa Hayatou has inspected the site with a call on the football authorities to speed up formalities in other to assess the fund for the project.
The CAF academy when completed will serve as a training college for coaches, referees, administrators as well as sports persons in the sub-region to upgrade their skills and knowledge.
The facility, which is classified as project under zone B will be at the disposal of seven countries including Ghana, Nigeria, Niger etc.
