The Confederation of African Football will announce the five-man shortlist for the 2012 African Player of the Year award on Friday in Accra.
According to Caf, the final nominees from a 10-man shortlist were decided by votes from the Head Coaches and the Technical Directors of the National Associations affiliated to sport governing body.
Andre Ayew is the only Ghanaian representative on the 10-man shortlist for the 2012 African Player of the Year award.
The other nominees are Yaya Toure, Didier Drogba, Alexander Song, Demba Ba, Gervais Lombe Yao Kouassi, John Obi Mikel, Younes Belhanda, Christopher Katongo and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Last year, Andre was second-runner up behind the Ivorian, Toure.
For the Player of the Year in Africa category, the list has been be whittled to three from five nominees.
The 2012 Awards Gala will be held on December 20 at the Banquet Hall, State House, Accra.
