Cagliari sign Donsah for €2 million

GHANASoccernet.com can exclusively report that Italian Serie A side Cagliari have acquired promising Ghanaian teenager Godfred Donsah for €2 million.

The 18-year-old defensive midfielder spent one season at fellow top-flight side Hellas Verona and played just one Serie A match.

But Cagliari coach Zdenek Zeman and his scouts were closely monitoring him and instead of a loan request, have decided to buy him outright.

“This is the biggest transfer news for Ghana this season,” Donsah’s agent Oliver Arthur exclusively told GHANASoccernet.com

“He is the only 1996 born, who has moved from a Serie A team to another when he has not got enough first team experience.

“This is incredible for the young boy especially when he is not a European.”

His performance in the 2014 Viareggio tournament caught the eyes of stellar European sides including Manchester City and Bayern Munich.

Donsah was scouted by Oliver Arthur’s ArthurLegacy Sports and sent to Italy at age 15 for a development programme.

The former DC United player has become the most expensive Ghanaian teenager.
