Charles Boateng joins French side Dijon

Ghana under-20 midfielder Charles Boateng has joined French second division club Dijon.

The 17-year-old moves from local side Nania FC on a two-year contract.

Boateng signed the contract on Friday after impressing on trials with the Ligue Two side.

“Boateng has overly impressed us and that’s the reason why we offered him the contract,” Dijon coach Serge Romano said.

“We are confident that he will succeed here and we are prepared to give him the necessary assistance to reach his full potential."

The midfielder was part of Ghana’s under-20 team that failed to qualify for the World Youth Championship in Canada in July.
