Chelsea & Real Madrid need to pay €22m for Abdul Rahman Baba

Chelsea and Real Madrid are interested in Augsburg full back Abdul Rahman Baba, according to reports.

Last week French newspaper L’Equipe reported that Chelsea would be interested in signing the 20-year-old, who is fast becoming one of the sought after players in Europe.

He is already a regular international for Ghana and has caught the attentions of European heavyweights like Manchester City and Arsenal as well.

German giants Borussia Dortmund have also registered an interest in him. German press are claiming that Augsburg have slapped a €22m price tag on the youngster.

Chelsea are possibly looking to sign a left back in the summer. Last summer, the club signed Filipe Luis from Atletico Madrid but the Brazilian defender has hardly impressed and he could be allowed to leave the club next season. The Blues are also reportedly interested in Tottenham’s Danny Rose.

The youngster has made 27 appearances this season for the German club and many consider him as the ‘revelation of the season’. Real Madrid are targeting him to replace Fabio Contra, who is expected to leave the club in the summer.
