Chelsea are going over the finer details of a proposed £17.5million transfer fee for Augsburg left back Baba Rahman and it has also emerged that Jose Mourinho is bent on signing on another Ghanaian youngster, Godfred Donsah, from Cagliari.
Rahman, who is fast establishing himself with Ghana’s Black Stars, is their first choice for the position and he has already agreed personal terms ahead of his proposed move to Stamford Bridge.
Mourinho said Chelsea's work in the transfer window was done but the two clubs are ironing out the structure of payment for the 21-year-old Ghanaian international who is expecting to secure his move over the coming days.
Chelsea have also opened discussions for his highly-rated Ghanaian team-mate, Donsah, although the 19-year-old defensive midfielder from Cagliari is seen as one for the future.
Cagliari’s president, Tommaso Giulini, said: “We had a chat a few weeks ago with Chelsea but I am stunned by all these rumours around him. The boy needs to grow up with us.'
