Coach Herbert Addo under fire

”....grossly incompetent”

Local Black Stars coach Herbert Addo has come under massive criticism back home following Saturday’s 1-2 defeat to South Africa at the CHAN in Sudan.

The team selection of the Aduana stars boss is being questioned by exasperated fans after the home-based national team surrendered a 1-0 first half lead.

His decision to hand the gloves to Stephen Adams instead of the experienced Sammy Adjei and picking Godfred Saka ahead of Asante Kotoko’s Sabato Mohammed for the right-back position is being scrutinized the local fans.

Callers to radio phone-in sports programmes did not mince words in describing the former Asante Kotoko coach as ”grossly incompetent” for job.

“When we say our local coaches cannot take us anywhere they think we’re been unfair but the truth of the matter has been manifested in our game today. He was a total failure and we advise him to come back home if he cannot do the job,” And incensed fan told Tema-based Adom FM.

Another irritated supporter condemned the tactics of the coach describing it as old fashion.

“What was he point in putting Stephen Adams in post when we have experience goalkeepers like Sammy Adjei and Isaac Amoako? This is a total disaster and the earlier we ask him to come home the better. I will not hesitate to draw daggers with him with if he fails to qualify us from the group stage,” An infuriated fan told Happy FM.

Ghana took the lead through Larbi Kooomson’s fine header in the first half but lack of concentration allowed their opponent to bounce back in the second half.

The local Black Stars tackle Zimbabwe in the next game o Wednesday in a must win game.
