Kumasi, Aug. 24, GNA - Coach Abu Rahman of Aduana Stars has expressed his joy at the competitive nature of this year's Division One Middle League which ended last Sunday. Aduana Stars qualified alongside Accra Great Olympics and New Edubiase to the Premier League to replace relegated Gamba
All Blacks, Tema Youth and Sporting Mirren. Coach Rahman noted that the commitment and
determination exhibited by the 12 participating teams helped the
Clubs to give off their best and appealed to corporate bodies to
invest in Division One Soccer to unearth football talents in the
country. The Coach was speaking to the GNA Sports after
Aduana Stars held Bechem United to a pulsating 3-3 drawn game
in their final Middle League fixture at the Baba Yara Sports
Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday. Aduana Stars topped the Zone One with seven points
and have for the first time in the Club's history thus qualified to
play in the Premier League. Coach Rahman attributed the success of this year's
Middle League to what he termed as fair officiating by the referees
and discipline on the part of supporters that has made the league
incident-free. He said that Aduana Stars has entered the Premier
League to stay and as such they would work hard to smooth some
of the identified rough edges to make an impact. The coach urged supporters and well wishers of the Club to
pray and rally behind the success of the Club.
