Coconut Grove Sharks reap goal harvest

Cape Coast, Feb. 25, GNA- Elmina Coconut Grove Sharks played a highly spirited game to spank Mankessim Borbor Mfantse 5-0 in the Central Region second division sub -middle league played at the Cape Coast sports stadium on Tuesday.

The Sharks made victory certain when they led 2-0 at half time in a one sided match that saw no serious threat from the visitors. Centre half, Joseph Adade, who played a yeoman's game put Sharks on the winning trail when he scored two rapid goals in the 43rd and 45th minutes of the game.

On resumption Borbor Mfantse tried to make amends and took control of the game making several attempts to find the net but the able defence of Sharks held them in check.

Borbor Mfantse continued to threaten the goal area of Sharks but their hopes of drawing level with Sharks were shattered when Adade netted two more goals to bring the scores to 4-0.

In the 85th minute, Borbor Mfantse conceded a penalty when a hard-pressed defender handled the ball in the "18". Class one referee, Michael Arthur who handled the match whistled for a penalty for inside left, Amoa Mensah to increase his side's tally to 5-0 from the resultant kick.
