THE Cranes have vowed to deny Ghana maximum points in their weekend World Cup/Nations Cup qualifying tie in Kumasi.
"We are going to fight seriously and get a point a worst," said coach Muhammad Abbas whose side was boosted with the arrival of Rwandan based striker Hassan Mubiru yesterday.
Coach Abbas was cheerful about Mubiru's arrival, saying his experience would encourage the team's striking force. Mubiru will likely play with Geoffrey Sserunkuma.
In the last campaign for the 2004 Nations Cup, Uganda beat Ghana in Kampala and picked a point in Kumasi. " We want to get some thing from Kumasi again," said assistant coach Sam Ssimbwa.
Professionals Ibrahim Ssekajja was expected last night, while Timothy Batabaire will join the team in Nairobi tomorrow on their way to Ghana.
"We are going to fight in Ghana. I know the spirit of my players despite insufficient preparations," said Abbas who has managed one win in the campaign as coach of the Cranes.
Normalistaion Committee member Mr John Matovu will lead the Cranes' team that depart for Ghana tomorrow aboard Kenya Airways.
