Cudjoe cries over Black Queensâ?? failure

Black Queens midfielder, Elizabeth Cudjoe has expressed regret at Ghana’s failure to progress past the group stage of the ongoing Africa Women’s Championship and improve the nation’s chances of reaching the Women’s World Cup after a 7 year absence.

The Queens suffered a 1-0 loss to Algeria in their opening game, held South Africa to a 1-1 draw before beating Cameroon 1-0, yet it was not enough, after the South Africans edged them on goal difference with both sides finishing on four points.

“We came here (Namibia) to qualify for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada and we regret that we did not qualify,” she told Cafonline.com. “We never underrated any of the teams because we knew all the teams are capable.”

Ghana has never qualified for the Women’s World Cup since 2007 and Cudjoe said “we did our best but I think it was not enough” in their quest to break the jinx.
