Ghana defender David Addy will not play for the rest of the season in Portugal following a ban by the country’s federation.
The ban also means Addy is unlikely to return to Academica for next season as his loan deal would have ended.
The left-back, who is on loan from Porto, was slapped with a two-match by the Portuguese FA.
Addy received a two-match ban after being sent-off over the weekend in their 1-0 defeat at Maritimo.
With only two matches remaining in the Portuguese top-flight, Addy will not be able to play against for Academica this season.
He will not play in the matches against Braga on Sunday and Pacos Ferreira a week later.
Following his good performances for Academica and Ghana this year, Porto are likely to recall the left-back for the start of next season.
