David Boateng for Serie A

Newly promoted Italian Serie A club Ascoli has added David Boateng to their shopping list for the January transfer window. In line with this, the Liberty professionals? midfielder left the country for Italy over the weekend, joining the exodus of Ghanaian footballers to the European market.

CITI FM can confirm that ?Reggae? as he?s popularly known in football circles will be out of town for three weeks to justify his inclusion in the Serie A side.

The invitation of the midfielder was strengthened by the fact that fellow Ghanaian Sulley Muntari is currently doing exploits with another Serie A ou! tfit Udinese.

Liberty Professionals undoubtedly holds the core of the senior national team, the black Stars. The likes of Michael Essien, Asamoah Gyan, Emmanuel Addoquaye Pappoe, Joetex Frimpong, Sulley Ali Muntari to mention a few are all products of the club.

Ascoli is presently 14th on the Serie A league table with 13 points and drew 1-1 with Palermo last weekend.

Meanwhile, Real Tamale United and Black Stars player Hamza Mohammed is likely to move to English first division side Southampton when the January transfer window opens.

The player attracted the interest of Manager Harry Redknapp in August during the Star?s friendly game against Senegal in Brentford which ended in a drawn game.
