Ada based Denart Soccer Academy beat Ashaiman – Tema based Totteham F.C 2-1 in the under Twelve (12) category last Sunday at Big –Ada Gorm Park in a well-attended special friendly. Two late goals in each half by Godwin Kafui Kugblenu and Daniel Agbloe Lomotey helped the Academy side to beat the second runners up in the just ended Ashaiman zone colts’ league whilst in the under seventeen (17) category both sides drew goalless.
In an interview the coach of Totteham F.C Idris Mohamed was very impressed especially with the level of football talents in the Ada district. He said football has now come of age and its time the authorities in the helm of affairs look elsewhere especially to the villages to scout for natural talents to form the core of our national youth sides. Coach Idris has also called on the authorities in the Ada district to support the kids especially those players from the island of Pediatorkopey who were very fantastic on the day and urged all parents in the District to support and cooperate with the owner of the Academy.
Coach of the academy side, Denart was full of praise for his team especially the under-17 side for holding their counterparts to a goalless draw although they were bigger in size than them. He mentioned players such as Ametepey Solomon, Daniel Agbloe Lomotey, Aryerh Fredrick, Okronipah Ofoe, Torkornyoh Zakari, Larwerh Ebenezer, Henry Daguji, Wuddah Maradona, Agbokah Jones, Isaac Torkornyoh, Kabutey Atitsogbey (U-17 Goalkeeper) as some of the key players to look out for in the 2012 season.
He further stated that as part of the teams vision to exposed the football talents in Ada district to the outside world, the team will as usual open its doors to all colts teams and other well established soccer academies in the country for friendlies as a way of helping to groom and promote these players which in the long run will nurture special talents for our national teams.
Denart has also disclosed that apart from the upcoming friendlies with Danbort F.C., Agbozome F.C, Totteham F.C and other teams, the team in collaboration with other well established Soccer academies in the country will soon organize football clinics in the Dangme East district as part of his efforts of promoting Colts football in the district and has called on all to support the idea when the time comes.
The coach has also called on corporate Ghana and other benevolent groups and individuals to supports the Academy and other colts’ teams in the country since these junior clubs provide players for our national teams.
