Denkyem ressurection cup” soccer tournament ends

The annual Denkyem easter soccer tournament dubbed “ RESURRECTION CUP” which took place in Tema, Sakasaka park to be precise, ended successfully on Tuesday, with community two (2) J county being crowned as champions in the under 14 segment , and Italian Flats emerging as champions for the under 12’s. The tournament started with the under 12’s, where Italian Flats beat their community two BBC counterparts on penalties, made light work of their colleagues from Tema Newtown, and continued by beating J.County on penalties in the final.

J. county in the under 14 segment beat community 5 in their first match on penalties, and continued by beating Tema Newtown , and then beat Italian Flats 1-0 in the final match to lift the trophy

Ben Ghartey of J county was awarded the best player in the u 12 category, and for his prize a pair of football boots, whilst Godfred Enyan for emerging as the goal king, also received a pair of soccer boots. Frank Appenteng was adjudged the best player of the under 14 category and for his prize received a jersey and pants to match, same as as James Opare who won the golden boot award.

A soccer ball and denkyem labeled t shirts were presented to the Italian flats team, whilst the winners of the under 14, were also presented with a trophy and t shirts . The presentations were made by the vice president for the Denkyem Charitable Foundation, Ato Yanney Jnr, a filmmaker and a businessman.

Refreshments were also made available for the participating teams. Denkyem Charitable Foundation Inc. is a nongovernmental organization which uses sports to reach the youth to give them hope and a future.

The organization is sponsored by Denkyem Charitable Foundation Inc.(USA), King Global Ventures, Managerial Government Resources (MGR),OZE sports Taverns , Basta Sports, all based in the United States of America, Builders of Today (BOTA), also a nongovernmental organization, and Flamboyant Damsel ltd (Tema) .
