Ghana international Derek Boateng played his first match for Eibar on Wednesday night in their Spanish La Liga match against Villarreal at home.
Boateng, 31, was handed a starting role by head coach Gaizka Garitano.
He has been overlooked in their opening four matches against Osasuna, Real Sociedad, Atletico Madrid and Elche.
But the former Fulham player gets a chance to justify his inclusion in the squad.
Boateng made a dramatic switch to Eibar after terminating his contract with Rayo Vallecano, a club he signed for in the summer but never played for them in a competitive match.
