Fulham midfielder Derek Boateng believes he needs to leave the Premier League club if he is to have any chance of playing for Ghana at the 2014 World Cup.
The Black Stars player was brought to Craven Cottage by Martin Jol, who has since been sacked by the Cottagers and replaced by Rene Meulensteen.
That change in management has seen Boateng's playing time become even more limited, and with the Brazil spectacular only six months away, the 30-year-old knows he cannot afford to be missing out on vital game time at club level.
"It is every players dream to play in the World Cup and I want to go to Brazil to help my national team, (but) I cannot go to Brazil while I continue to warm the bench at Fulham," he told Football411 in an exclusive interview.
"I was signed by Martin (Jol) and he is no more with us, so I have started speaking to Fulham and hopefully they will understand me and allow me to go on loan.
"Scott (Parker) and the other players are doing well, and I don't think I can be guaranteed a permanent place with the starting lineup.
"I know this request won't cause any problem for both parties."
