Accra, May 29, GNA - Coach Cecil Jones Attuquayefio, has cautioned Kumasi Asante Kotoko that to underestimate Liberty Professionals ahead of their Premiership clash at the El-Wak Stadium on Saturday would be at their own peril.
On-song Kotoko are favoured ahead of the duel but the tactician head coach of Liberty says undervaluing the potentials of the Dansoman-based club could be suicidal to any team despite their shocking 1-3 loss to lowly placed Zaytuna United in their midweek clash. Coach Attuquayefio told GNA Sports that "it will be a big shame for anyone to underestimate us just because we lost a game and our opponents are in shape.
"There is no shade of doubt about Kotoko's form right now but it is obvious with all our troubles with injuries, we have done pretty well to this point and our potential cannot be misjudged."
Coach Attuquayefio's team has laboured with injury worries in recent times with regulars such as Touha Khamis racing with time for the game Liberty must win to keep their title ambitions on course. Liberty would also be without regular goalkeeper, Patrick Antwi who is serving a ban for picking a red card last week but the former African Coach of the Year insists assembling a solid midfield plus the "reliable ones" could do the magic on Saturday.
"Winning on Saturday cannot be termed as impossible. We have come far, learnt many things and ready to fight for points to achieve our dreams and like you know, anything can happen in football." Liberty trail the league leaders Kotoko by ten points with just a point separating them and second placed Kpando Heart of Lions. They lost the first meeting in Kumasi 1-2 and would have revenge on their minds when they host the "Porcupine Warriors at the week-end."
