Don't Blame me -Kwabena Yeboah replies critics

Ace football commentator and the host of GTV popular sports programme SPORTS HIGHLIGHTS, Kwabena Yeboah has denied with vehemence media speculations that he has deliberately refused to show matches of the smaller clubs that are not domiciled in Accra.

Speaking to Space FM this morning, Yeboah who is also the Editor of African Sports newspaper said he has no slightest intention of sidelining the smaller clubs on his programmes. ?How would anyone in his right frame of mind refuse to show highlights of the matches of the smaller clubs and at the same time clamour for development of soccer at all corners of Ghana?, he queried rhetorically.

He was reacting to the Ghana web story captioned; ?ARSENAL AND BOFO SUPPORTERS TO GO ON MASSIVE DEMO? filed by a Sunyani based radio station, Space FM last Monday.

According to him, he finds it extremely difficult to have access to tapes of matches played in Brong Ahafo Region and other parts of Ghana and has no option than to make do with the tapes made available to him.

It would be recalled that the supporters of the two premier clubs in Brong Ahafo, Arsenal and Bofoakwa Tano last week threatened to hit the streets to protest against what they described as discrimination against their teams with respect to telecast of excerpts of the league matches on sports highlights.

The 2005 GT premier league is twenty weeks old but only two matches each of Arsenal and Bofoakwa have featured on Sports Highlights, a situation Agya Osei, the spokesperson of the supporters has described as unacceptable.
