Duncan is a disgrace to coaching - Bernard Xiel

Former board member and National Circles Council chairman Bernard Xiel has descended heavily on indignant Asante Kotoko coach David Duncan insisting he is a disgrace to the coaching profession.

To him, he finds it disgusting and hard to believe that a coach who is languishing at the bottom of a 16-team league will still want to hang on to his job.

“What the coach is doing is disgusting and embarrassing. For a coach of his caliber, he should have resigned even before he was asked to step aside. You [Duncan] are at the bottom of the league table with the club, yet you want to hang on,” he said in an interview on Kumasi-based radio station Kessben FM.

Duncan was asked by the management of the club to step aside from his official duties after their 1-0 defeat to Aduana Stars on Sunday for assistant coach Michael Osei to take over until further notice.

But the indignant coach who claims ‘step aside’ is not captured in his contract insist he will not accept to ‘step aside’ since it will be illegal for him to do.

The former Board member then advised management that they should re-write a new letter for the troubled coach if he insists he cannot accept to ‘step aside’.

“What I wish to tell the management is that if he [Duncan] is still proving difficult for them, they should give him another letter and specify that he is sacked for him to understand,” he added.
