The Ethics Committee, chaired by Nana Adjei Ampofo (Chairman), has issued an indefinite ban on Nana Aidoo, the Chief Executive Officer of Premier League side, Ebusua Dwarfs.
Nana Aidoo failed to make an appearance after been invited to attend the hearing over an allegation purported to have been made by him.
The Dwarfs CEO was to assist the Committee in its investigation into an allegation that he supports the physical assault by fans of Dwarfs FC on Referee Mr. Patrick Kyeremarteng who handled their Glo Premier League match on Sunday, 11th March, 2012 against Aduana at Robert Mensah Stadium, Cape Coast.
Ethics proceedings against Nana Aidoo was opened on 8th April, 2012 into the case.
"For persistently refusing to appear before the Ethics Committee for the Fifth (5th) time (that is 20th March, 2012; 9th April, 2013; 23rd April, 2013; 30th April and 11th June,2013), to clarify the inflammatory and inciting comments to the effect that you support the physical assault by fans of Ebusua Dwarfs F.C on Referee Patrick Kyeremarteng who handled your Glo Premier League Match on Sunday, 11th March, 2012 against Aduana Stars at the Robert Mensah Stadium, the Ethics Committee is of the view that you still stand by those comments.
"The comment was made on Peace FM Sports Programme on Monday 12th March, 2012.
"The Ethics Committee hereby bans you indefinitely from holding any office in any Football Club affiliated to the G.F.A in Ghana with immediate effect," a decision by the Ethics Committee stated.
In another Ethics Committee ruling, the head coach of King Faisal, Mallam Yahaya has been cautioned after he retracted and apologised to Medeama S.C for comments he made after a league match on 17th March, 2013 at Baba Yara Stadium.
The King Faisal coach in the post-match interview accused Medeama S.C of being aided by match officials to win their matches.
Decision
1. The committee hereby grants Mallam Yahaya’s request to retract and apologise to Medeama S.C and the public on radio. Mallam Yahaya is also to write a formal apology letter to the management of Medeama S.C.
2. Mallam Yahaya is admonished and cautioned. The Committee wants to state however that any similar behaviour by Mallam Yahaya or anybody would be severely punished. Meanwhile, the Committee has taken note of these persistent complaints against Match Officials on and off the pitch and the Football Association and the Referees Committee and the Match Review Committee should not ignore these complaints.
