Dwarfs beat Feyenoored Academy

Cape Coast, June 22, GNA - Cape Coast Mysterious Dwarfs played a yeoman's game to beat Gomoa Fettey Feyenoored Academy 2-0 in their Division One League match played at the Robert Mensah Stadium, Cape Coast on Sunday.

After Referee Victor Tsadadzi of Tema signaled the two sides into action, it was Dwarfs who indicated their preparedness to carry the day as they went ahead to score the opener in the 40th minute through a spot kick taken by midfielder, Ekow Ghansah. Back from the recess, Feyenoored took absolute control of the match and forced Dwarfs to defend for the greater part of the second half, but Dwarfs against the run of play increased the tally to two when inside right, Ricky Essuman connected home a Michael Asiedu's pass in the 80th minute to seal the doom of the visitors.

Even though Feyenoored lost the match, they entertained the crowd to a copybook soccer coupled with accurate passes but Mohammed Awar who insulted the referee for awarding a penalty in favour of Dwarfs, was red carded for an insulting behaviour.

Results of other matches were, Tarkwa Real United beat Sekondi West Landes 3-2, Windy Professionals drew 1-1 with Sekondi Metro Stars. The match between Dunkwa-on-Offin Starke and Elmina Coconut Groove Sharks was however rained off.
