Dwarfs launch appeal for funds

Cape Coast, Feb. 23. GNA - Cape Coast Mysterious Dwarfs on Tuesday, organised a float through the principal streets of the Municipality to raise funds of about 200 million cedis towards the club's National Middle League bid.

The float took off from the Victoria Park and ended at the Robert Mensah Sports stadium during which the supporters, accompanied by brass band music solicited for funds both in cash and kind from football fans and the club's sympathisers.

Mr Bob Stephens, the Welfare Officer of the club who donated two million cedis, in an address to the players appealed to the supporters, organisations, philanthropists and the Regional Co-ordinating Council to assist the club financially towards its qualification.

He also appealed to the playing body and the executives to bury their differences and focus on the Middle League.

Alhaji Abubakar, Vice Chairman of Venomous Vipers also donated two million cedis and promised to present the club with additional 10 million cedis if it gains promotion to the Premier Division.

He urged the players to enter the league with the determination and zeal to win and called on the clubs in the Municipality to led their support to the Club in its efforts to gain admission to the Premier league, Rasidi Alawe, captain of the club who received the monies on behalf of the playing body, thanked the donors and assured the supporters, well wishers and the executives that they would give off their best during the tournament to gain promotion to the Premier Division.
