Dwarfs to honour home games at Sunyani

The Sunyani Coronation Park would be the new home grounds for Ebusua Dwarfs after the Premier League Board (PLB) confirmed that the Cape Coast-based Club will no longer be using the banned Robert Mensah Stadium.

Dwarfs could be playing the rest of their home League games in Sunyani following a temporary closure of the Robert Mensah Stadium after acts of hooliganism last weekend.

A statement issued by the (PLB) copied to GNA Sports said "We wish to inform you that in view of the temporary closure of the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast following the unfortunate incident which nearly claimed the lives of the Match Officials and a Police Officer from mob action after your Club’s match against Aduana on 11th March, 2012’.

‘We have invoked Article 15 (3) of the Regulations and has decided on the following pending the determination of the case by the Disciplinary Committee.’

Dwarfs’ first assignment in their new home will come against League leaders, Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Sunday.

Crowd violence almost claimed the life of referee Patrick Kyeremanteng and his officials after irate home supporters invaded the pitch following their lone goal loss to Aduana Stars, protesting a late disallowed goal which could have earned Dwarfs a point.**
