Edubiase over reliant on Baffour

Coach Anthony Commey says he is concerned about New Edubiase's over reliance on Emmanuel Baffour, who has scored 11 out of the club's 14 goals so far this season.

Only three other players, Ibrahim Moro, Asiedu Attobra and Bernard Ofori have scored a goal each to alongside Baffour's 11.

For Commey, the statistics shows that they have been too reliant on Baffour, who is away with the Ghana senior team for a pre-African Nations Cup training camp in South Africa.

Baffour has enjoyed arguably his finest individual campaign to date and his absence could prove costly for Edubiase, who are three points shy off the top.

"Yes, it true that Baffour has scored most of the goals for us. We rely on Baffour and that is why he is part of our team. It could be too much but we rely on every player," Commey said after defeating Medeama courtesy Ofori's last-gasp goal at the Gyamfi Park.

Commey is convinced his side would continue to progress without Baffour but wants the other players to take more responsibility.

"I think we are doing well. This guys are young and would come up to speed.

"They need to be playing well and have to be take their chances," he said.

Edubiase are sitting fourth on the table ahead of their midweek fixture away to Tema Youth.
