Dutch-born would-be Ghana attacker Elvis Manu has joined English Championship campaigners Brighton and Hove Albion on a three-year-contract, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.

The 22-year-old who is awaiting confirmation from FIFA to enable him play for the Black Stars passed medicals on Friday and inked a three-year-contract from Dutch giants Feyenoord Rotterdam.

The Seagulls reportedly paid £1.5 million to beat competition from Watford and Bayer Leverkusen to sign the former Dutch U21 international from Feyenoord.

Born to Ghanaian parents in Dordrecht, Manu progressed through the ranks at Feyenoord’s academy and subsequently scored his first goal for the first team in a 3-2 win at Heerenveen in May 2012.

He then had loan spells at Excelsior and SC Cambuur in 2012-13 and 2013-14.

Manu scored five goals in 15 Eredivisie appearances at Cambur as a loanee two seasons ago.

He established himself at Feyenoord last season when he also announced himself on the European stage with a total of 14 goals in 37 outings in Eredivisie, the Champions League and Europa League.

He is expected to earn his debut Ghana call-up in the Black Stars next AFCON qualifiers.
