The Ghanaian star believes he will have a lot of energy in him to carry on to another global football fiesta in 2018
Ghana midfielder Michael Essien is not considering international retirement yet as he seeks to carry on with the Black Stars even to Russia 2018.
The 31-year-old has been in the treatment room on several occasions and has affected his performance drastically, but the former Chelsea ace is looking to quash reports of possible international retirement.
“I love my country. If I suffer no further injuries, and continue to play well, then I may even be at another World Cup,” Essien told Vital Football.
The ‘Bison’ who moved to AC Milan in the winter played 12 games the whole of last season for the Blues and the San Siro outfit.
Essien, who went on international hiatus for close to two years, returned last year and featured in games against Zambia and Egypt in World Cup qualifiers.
