Faisal has championship potential

Coach Ralf Zumdick Christopher Benard, has disclosed that he is in Kumasi for the second time this time briefly to help King Faisal F/C through the efforts of his good friend, Herbert Kwabena Amponsah Mensah.

He said he would hold further talks with the management of King Faisal F/C after his stay with the club if there was the need to sign a long contract with them. In an interview with the Times Sports, coach Zumdick noted that he is faced with the task of polishing the rough edges of King Faisal and to put them on the right course in the 2003 Premier League.

The team has potential players and the boys are willing to learn. ?Seriously speaking, after playing Obuasi Goldfields at Len Clay Stadium, it was there that I got to know that I have a lot of work to do by putting the players in a better shape, improve their ball control, shooting and some other football tactics,? the coach said.

He explained further that the management of King Faisal led by Alhaji Grunsah and other technical staff got on well with him, adding that he is not here to challenge any team, ?only work as a professional coach, period.?

Touching on Kotoko?s performance during the LG Top 4 tournament, coach Zumdick praised the team for beating Hearts of Oak on its way to winning the trophy. ?This indicates that Kotoko will be a team to watch during the 2003 premier league,? he noted.

The coach also praised Herbert Mensah for his sense of professionalism, ?but it is quite unfortunate that people do not seem to understand him.?
