Faisal is Stop Gap Measure for Armando

Baaba Armando Adamu is hoping to use his spell at King Faisal to stay in shape for what he says could be a January move to Russia.

The former Asante Kotoko and Black Stars player joined Alhaji Grunsah's Faisal after a difficult time with the Porcupine Warriors and has promised the traditional mid table club that he will give his all during the time that he is there.

But Armando insists his first priority is to head back to Russia when the European transfer window opens in January.

"I have agreed the move in order to stay in shape for the next transfer window," he told KickOffGhana.com.

"My first priority is to play in Europe again but I just could not sit around and wait for that."

There are those who will consider the move a step down for one of the most talented players of his generation but in many ways Armando had no choice.

He has bungled many opportunities at clubs overseas including failure to hold down contracts in Russia and an inability to secure a deal at Sudanese club Al-Hilal. And when Kotoko registered him for the last season, they did not use him in a competitive game.

He is desperate to get back into the limelight and compete for a place in the Black Stars and feels Faisal will be the right place.

"I just want to put the problems of the past behind. I was very frustrated at Kotoko but Faisal is a fine opportunity to start again," he added.
