Faisal play Hearts, Kotoko versus Goldfields

Accra, Oct. 8, GNA - League leaders Asante Kotoko and arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak have lined up crunch friendly matches to sharpen their rough edges before the re-start of the Kinapharma Premier League in two weeks time.

Kotoko play host to Obuasi Goldfields at the Kumasi Sports Stadium on Sunday, October 12, while Hearts trek to the Garden City (Kumasi) a week later, as guests of King Faisal.

A statement issued in Accra on Wednesday by the Ghana Football Association and signed by Kwaku Ampim-Darko, Deputy General Secretary (Technical), said the FA could not sanction a third match, which involves Okwawu United.

This is sequel to the fact that both Kotoko and Faisal have expressed interest in playing the soccer mountaineers but Okwawu is yet to indicate which of the two, it wants to engage.

The statement said once Okwawu makes up its mind, the match will be honoured on Sunday, October 26.
