Fatawu Dauda’s local representative Mickey Boafo has refuted claims his client has been put under a spell by the mother of his ex-girlfriend.
The Ghana international is accused of dumping his ex-girlfriend Lawrencia when his financial fortunes soared with call ups into the Black Stars.
According to Lawrencia, a cursed placed on the 29-year-old by her mother – Abena Wura – is the reason behind Dauda’s recent problems, especially during his torrid time at Orlando Pirates.
But the local manager of the new Chippa United goalkeeper has dismissed these claims – pointing out to the several inconsistencies in Lawrencia’s claims.
“Invoking curses are the lady in question’s prerogative and indeed the success and failure of Fatau Dauda and any player for that matter depends solemnly on Allah,” Mickey Boafo told GHANAsoccernet.com.
“They used to be in a relationship but they parted ways long before Fatawu was even invited to the Black Stars.
“The lady has been making excessive demands and that is what collapsed the relationship in the first place.
“I can confidently tell you that her curses will be ineffective because Allah knows Fatawu has done no wrong, it is just a situation of a relationship that was ended a long time ago.
“The evidence is even clear, after her so called curses, Fatawu went on to the World Cup and worked hard to eventually take a starting place.
“He has also managed to secure a club where he will play regularly and improve his form.”
Fatawu Dauda played two games for Ghana at the 2014 World Cup.
He has secured a move to PSL club Chippa United having endured a torrid time at giants Orlando Pirates.
