Fenerbahce continue to chase Stade Rennais striker Asamoah Gyan and have attempted to snare the attacker by launching a bid for €16 million, according to Le Parisien.
The Turkish outfit have been linked with the Ghana international goal-getter since the conclusion of the World Cup, in which the former Udinese ace impressed greatly as the Black Stars reached the semi-finals. Already Fener are said to have had multiple bids rejected as Rennes continue to demand €20m for the 24-year-old forward.
Offers from the Premier League are possible, so the Turks have raised the stakes, though the Breton club have yet to indicate whether such a bid will be successful.
Already there are whispers in France that Loic Remy could make his way from Lorient as a replacement. Interest from Liverpool and West Ham United seemed to make a move to England inevitable for the young international, though both transfers have stalled. He has previously rejected interest from Rennes in the past, however.
