Florian Thauvin eulogizes wants Andre Ayew to stay at OM

Marseille attacker Florian Thauvin has revealed his desire to have Ghana midfielder Andre Ayew stay at the Stade Velodrome.

Thauvin, 20, is saddened by the imminent departure of the Ghanaian international who has been linked with a move away from the Club.

Ayew would be heading out of the Club after eight seasons with the former French Champions.

The 25-year-old who has a year left on his deal will not renew his contract after the season.

English sides Liverpool, Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspurs are alleged to have shown interest in the Ghana ace.

Thauvin, who have established a good relationship with his senior colleague, has agitated on Ayew’s looming exit from the Club.

“I would like Andre Ayew to stay at OM,” he began, “Andre is a leader, he’s been here a while.”

“He’s an important player for the team,” Thauvin continued, “his departure for the [2015] Africa Cup of Nations hurt us. We would have loved for him to have been with us.”

“He shouts at us to motivate us, to push us further.”

The former Ghana U20 skipper is also said to have received offers from Italian sides AS Roma and Inter Milan as well as German giant Bayern Leverkusen.

The hard working midfielder has been an agile member of Marseille since returning from a loan spell at Ligue 2 side Arles-Avignon in 2010.

Ayew has been able to bag nine goals in 26 appearances for Marseille this season.
