Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong is hoping to turn on the style and provide some steel in Arsenal’s midfield this season as a springboard to a future Ghana career.
The midfielder, who was hugely impressive in the pre-season Emirates Cup game against River Plate, has always said he wants to represent the Black Stars.
Next Tuesday he will get closer to the Black Stars as a spectator in the international friendly against Nigeria at Vicarage Road in Watford.
And in the nearest future he will be hoping to be lining up alongside many of the players who will be on display next Tuesday.
"Hopefully when the right comes I will play for Ghana but at the moment I need to play for Arsenal," he says.
"This season is about to start so we are going to see what happens. Ghana is there for me so when the opportunity comes I am going to come and play."
Before then however, he will be the cheering the Stars on at Vicarage Road on Tuesday.
"I think we are going to win the game. Nigeria is a good side but Ghana will win 2-1. I think Asamoah Gyan will score and so will Kwadwo Asamoah. It’s going to be a good night."
