Ouagadougou, June 6, GNA - Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, Chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has stated that his administration was yet to sign a deal with any apparel company to kit the national team teams.

Speaking to the GNA Sports in Ouagadougou where the Black Stars were beaten by a lone goal in an Africa zone 2006 World Cup qualifier by neighbours Burkina Faso, the GFA Chairman said though the team wore apparels from French Sports company, Le Coq Sportif for the match it was only for trials.

"The company just bailed us out by giving us two samples of their apparels for the match while negotiating for a best possible deal for the country continues.

"So even though we wore their products, it does not mean that we have signed a deal with them, all that we did was to request from them samples of their jerseys while we continue with negotiations", Mr Nyaho-Tamakloe told the GNA Sports.

He said the GFA was in talks with other kits manufacturers to get the best deal for Ghana.

"At the moment we have received offers from kits manufactures in Germany and we are critically looking at their proposal", The Chairman said.

Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe denied media reports that the GFA General Secretary, Mr Kofi Nsiah was in France recently to sign a deal with the French kits makers Le Coq Sportif.

He said while in France for the FIFA centenary celebration, he (Nyaho) had preliminary talks with the French kits makers on the possibility of them kitting the national teams but nothing conclusive was reached.

"We managed to convince them to give a sample of their jersey for the match against Burkina Faso which they agreed to do hence the reason why Mr Nsaih went to France and not to sign any agreement.

"All that we are looking for is a deal that is in the best interest of Ghana", Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe told the GNA Sports.

The last apparel agreement the GFA went into was with Italian Sports manufactures L-Sporto, which ended in a fiasco after the kits manufactures were not able to deliver the kits on the appointed time. 06 June 04
