GHALCA is dead – Alhaji Gruzah

Ahmed Abdul Karim Gruzah founder and owner of King Faisal Football Club has described the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) as a dead organisation since it has failed to perform the required function.

Speaking at the Justice Senyo Dzamefe Presidential Commission of Inquiry, Alhaji Gruza said, the Association was supposed to provide checks on the Ghana Football Association (GFA), apart from its welfare duties but has over the years failed to execute its functions effectively.

According to Alhaji Gruzah, GHALCA has lost its focus because everyone in the body are thinking of their personal interest instead of that of Ghana football.

“Without proper opposition the GFA cannot function well. But in our case everybody is thinking about himself and what to earn at the end of the day.

“GHALCA must sit up and perform its functions well or it will remain a dead organization,” he stated.

Alhaji Gruzah said GHALCA has over the years contributed to the decline in Ghana football because of its present posture.

Touching on coaches, the renowned football administrator said, Ghanaian coaches must upgrade themselves by acquiring the requisite knowledge and certificate in coaching.

“You don’t expect the state to sponsor your training in Europe and expect us to employ you after and pay you huge salaries,” he added.
