Ghana FA confirm South Korea friendly

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed next month’s pre-World Cup friendly against South Korea, president Kwesi Nyantakyi announced on Monday.

The Black Stars had earlier planned to test their battle readiness against Honduras who have also qualified for the tournament.

This will be the second time Ghana will be playing Korea before a World Cup final.

“I can confirm that there will be two friendly matches between Holland and South Korea. That was what the coach requested for two matches and we have been able to arrange it for him,” Nyantakyi said at a press conference.

Korea are among the 32 finalists in Brazil and are in Group H alongside Belgium, Algeria and Russia.

The match will be played on 9th June before leaving for their base in Natal next day.

Ghana begin her third successive World Cup campaign against old foes USA on 16 June before engaging Germany and Portugal.
