Ghana Football Association fines Hearts

Accra, July 16, GNA - The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has imposed a fine of GHC 1,250 on Premier League leaders Accra Hearts of Oak for delaying the kick off of their 29th Week League game against Berekum Arsenals at the Golden City Park, Berekum last Sunday. A statement signed by Kweku Ampem-Darko, Deputy General Secretary of the GFA said the fine was in accordance with article 39.8 of the regulations of the Association and the fine has to be adhered to accordingly.

It added that Arsenals has also been fined GHC 1,000 for the unruly behaviour of their supporters. The statement said Real Tamale United's player Alhassan Weah has been fined GHC 500 for breaking an egg at the center of the playing field when they played Sekondi Hasaacas at Essipong stadium near Sekondi.

The fine was also in accordance with article 39.8 of the GFA regulations. In a related development, Ashantigold Sporting Club has been referred to the Disciplinary Committee of the GFA for the unruly behaviour of their supporters which led to the throwing of tear gas and the injury of a Police Officer on duty at the Len Clay stadium.
