Ghana Football Association (GFA) is contemplating playing the Ghana Premier League during the football mundial in Russia in June.
It is FIFA law that all leagues around the World must come to a halt ahead of the commencement of the World Cup.
But Communications Director of the FA Saanie Daara explained that they are already behind scheduled due to the pending court case and since Ghana has not qualified it makes sense to apply to FIFA for an exemption.
“We plan to play the league while the World cup is ongoing since Ghana didn't qualify and we are already behind time in terms of our local league.
“So if it becomes necessary to apply to FIFA for exemption we would
We can't afford to loose any more time because we are already out of time”
The launch of the new season which was scheduled to commence on February 9, was halted after Accra Great Olympics served the Ghana Football Association with an injunction letter in a protest that Bechem United fielded an unqualified player against them during last season's campaign.
The case has since been adjourned by the Accra High Court to February 21st, 2018.
