Tony Baffoe has urged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to outsource the Premier League Board (PLB) to an effective body with expertise in organizing events as the way out to help promote the Ghana Premier League which is struggling to find its feet.
The Ghana FA have come under serious criticisms of not paying much attention to the domestic league, making it dwindle in fortunes.
The ex-Black Stars defender believes the league is unattractive because it is not being organized by the right body, so there should be the need to give it as a contract a competent body that will be independent of the GFA.
“The league should be run by an independent body. We can have a chairman, a CEO and a proper competition department, that is my point of view.
“You can even ask Abra-Appiah, I have given him and the President(Kwesi Nyantakyi) a document and the GFA discussed during the Executive Committee sitting on how we can reorganize and beautify the game,” he Tony Baffoe told Metro FM.
The GPL is currently organized by the PLB which is one of the standing committees of the GFA, with a Chairman and a Vice Chairman both appointed by the Executive Committee of the association and also it has now been reconstituted to have a member each from all the 16 premier league clubs, unlike before that all members were appointed by the GFA.
