Ghanaian Football Club named after Arsenal star Mesut Ozil

Arsenal Star Mesut Ozil has a football club in Ghana named after him after a kind gesture to the club.

Through his agent Dr Erkut Sogut who was on a working visit to Ghana paid a visit with his host Daniel Akowuah to the Eastern Regional town of Abiriw.

Mesut Ozil through his agent presented over 80 signed jersey for U-12,U-15 and U-17 jerseys to the players of Young Boys Fc in Abiriw.

Immediately after the gesture , founders of the team renamed it from Young Boys Fc to Abiriw Ozil Football Club.

Abiriw Ozil Fc is a local football team formed three years ago in Abiriw a town in the Okere District Assembly in the Eastern Region.

The football team was formed by two young twins, Okyere Junior and Okyere Senior about three years ago.

Dr. Erkut Sogut outlined the intentions of the German World Cup winner aside the football pitch.

"I'm a deliverer of his message,I'm here for him because he can't be here so I'm a messenger for him, he gave me his word to do this with Daniel together"

"So we are here to deliver his message,to share with the kids the young ones,give them vision and dreams to follow them work hard and hopefully achieve them".

The twins Okyere senior and Okyere junior were grateful to the Arsenal star for his kind gesture and hope to raise the team to a higher pedestal in future.
