Real Zaragoza have announced that they will not sign their former player Godwin Antwi after failing on trials.
Antwi, who currently plays for Norwegian side Bodo and holds a Spanish passport, was eyeing a move back to Spain but have to wait for another chance, according to Heraldo.
The report said it would have been difficult for the player to break into the first team.
Antwi, 25, played for the youth team of Asante Kotoko before leaving for Spain where he featured for Zaragoza and also moved to Liverpool in 2005.
The player, who can also feature as a central defender and a left-back, has already been capped four times by the Spanish Under-19 and yet is to feature for Ghana.
