Greater Accra U-12 qualifies for the semi finals

Koforidua, May 26, GNA - The Greater Accra Under-12 team spanked their Brong Ahafo counterparts by three goals to nil to qualify to the semi-finals of the on-going Milo Sports Festival at Koforidua. The Accra lads who scored two goals in the first half were a delight to watch with the score line after the third goal and entertained the spectators to a delightful football session with their opponents watching in bewilderment.

The Accra team are therefore to face Eastern Region on Thursday in their semi-final march that has been described as a "cracker and the final of finals."

In the other matches, Volta Region scored two first half goals to beat Upper East, while their colleagues from the Upper West Region were no march for the Western Region when they were humiliated with a 5 - 0 win.

Central Region also lost 3-4 to Ashanti Region on penalties after the two side's settled for a one all score after the full-time. Ashanti Region would therefore meet Northern Region in the other U-12 semi-finals tomorrow.

In the Inter Schools and Colleges games, Aquinas Secondary school of Accra suffered a three-nil (3-0) crushing defeat at the hands of Twene Amanfo Seconday Technical of the Brong Ahafo Region while Winneba Secondary School subdued Bolgatanga Technical Institute with a 4-0 score line.

Awudome Secondary School of the Volta region (AWUSCO) beat Salaga Secondary School(SASS) 3-1 in penalties after a goalless game. Even though POJOSS defeated Wa Technical (WATECH) School 5-3 on penalties after their one all drawn game, they could not qualify to the next stage of the competition.

The defending champions, New Juaben College of Commerce (NJUACOCO) will tomorrow battle it out with Prempeh College while Twene Amanfo Secondary Technical face St John's School of Sekondi in another gruelling semi-final match.

In the Girls volley ball competition, Wenchi Secondary suffered a 0-2 loss to Fijai Secondary School, Labone Secondary defeated Kanton Secondary School of Tumu 2-0, T.I Ahmadiyya Secondary School of Kumasi (T.I.AMASS) lost 0-2 to Bolgatanga Technical while Awudome Secondary School (Awusco) suffered 0-2 defeat to Oda Secondary School(ODASCO). Kumasi Girls would meet Tamale Secondary in the semi finals and Labone Secondary would also meet ODASCO in the other fixture.
