There was a mood of satisfaction and hope amongst the Ghana Football Association and the management of Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited as the beverage sponsor’s of the Black Stars dole out $120,000 being the second installment of the sponsorship agreement.
The payment of the second trunch to the Football Association was at a meeting between both parties.
Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited, beverage sponsor’s have a three-year running contract with the GFA.
The beverage giants who have been supporters of the Black Stars since 1998 have promised to buy another bus for the Black Stars through a special project says Managing Director, Seni Adetu.
Seini Adetu at the meeting thanked the FA and the Sports Ministry for the structures put in place that saw the Black Stars sparkle at the World Cup where they reached the round of 16.
The sense abounds that the Black Stars have clicked into their best form since their exploits at the 2006 World Cup in Germany and their timing may just be right ahead of the next year’s African Cup of Nations to be hosted by Ghana.
No wonder Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited are hopeful of remaining a major partner to the team in the coming years.
Present at the meeting were FA president, Kwesi Nyantakyi, deputy minister of sports, O.B. Amoah, FA vice president, Fred Pappoe, Awuah Nyamekye, Randy Abbey and Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe.
