Gyan eager to see out Sunderland contract

Asamoah Gyan is happy to remain at Sunderland amid rumours of purported move away from Sunderland hours to the transfer deadline day.

The Ghana striker admits that he has been disturbed by claiming he was looking to leave the Black Cats.

Reports emerged on deadline day that Gyan could be on his way out of Wearside, and it was also claimed that he had submitted a transfer request.

However, Gyan, who is on international duty with Ghana, has now vehemently denied asking for a transfer.

"Those rumours have disturbed me to be honest," he told skysports.com.

"I do not want Sunderland fans to think I am not happy in Sunderland. I am happy with Steve Bruce who invested so much money in me and I will need to repay his faith."

"It is normal to be excited when a club such as Tottenham is interested, however I have a contract somewhere and I intend to honour that."
