Accra, May 23, GNA - The Board of Directors of Accra Hearts of Oak is preaching restrain to their disgruntled supporters in a move aimed at rallying them behind the team. Hearts' precarious fortunes in the Onetouch Premiership have seen no resurrection, but the management insists supporting the team to finish the league on a satisfactory note remains its vision. Ernest Thompson, Board Secretary of the Hearts in a press release said "whilst sympathizing with the supporters for their general dissatisfaction with the overall performance of the team, they are all advised to desist from acts of hooliganism and indiscipline including assaults on the coach after matches."
Hearts fans have grown inpatient with the team and coach Eyal Lachman's performance and have severally abused the players and the trainer during and after matches and charged the management to get involved with player selection for games. The Board Secretary however insists it is not the policy of the Club and management to interfere with the selection of players for matches. Mr Thompson said the Board would hold a meeting with the National Chapters Committee (NCC) to address the concerns of the supporters. The League Champions have struggled all season to add shine to their performance and are tenth on the 16-team table with 24 points. 23 May 08
