Former Accra Hearts of Oak Captain, Joe Ansah has indicated that the performance of the current team is below standard.
Joe Ansah expressed concern about the mentality of the current team which he believes is not pushing the team forward.
“The standard of Hearts of Oak has been below-par in recent times and my wish is the confidence we had from the fans in our time should be imparted to this very team because in the course of the match against them, I saw a glimpse of football brilliance in some of them.” Ansah told footballmadeinghana.com
“I know the board has also been unstable for some time now and judging from experience, Hearts of Oak perform better when there’s unity and peace at the board level.”
“And so the only advice I can give as an ex-player and fan of this great club is that, those at the helm of affairs should be unified for the club to start winning trophies again.”
He further emphasized that it will be in the interest of the team if the supposed power struggle that has engulfed the club in recent weeks can be quenched for the club to recapture its former glory days.
The retired right-back was the 2nd deputy skipper of the club that conquered Africa in the year 2000 to win the CAF Champions and the Super cup.
